THE 6^th SUMMER ALL-UKRAINIAN VETERANS GAMES Kyiv 2015     

The second stage of the 6^th Summer All-Ukrainian Veterans Games on basketball in commemoration of Mikhail Baka was held on May 21-24, 2015, in Kyiv.

Female teams competed in F40+ age category.

Men’s teams from Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv and Zhitomir competed in M55+ age category. Also in this division participated united AMICO-BIGGAME team. The team consisted of 60-year-old and 70-year-old players from Nikolaev and Dnepropetrovsk. These more senior competitors will take part in the 13^th FIMBA World Maxibasketball Championship – Orlando 2015, where they will play against the best world’s athletes their age. All-Ukrainian Veterans Games in Kyiv were a preparatory stage for AMICO-BIGGAME team to the FIMBA World Cup. More younger and vigorous rivals were excellent sparring partners for the AMICO-BIGGAME team.

In their first game AMICO-BIGGAME played against Dnepropetrovsk team. This match was won by younger Dnepropetrovsk’s players 64 : 49, who had used their advantages in force and speed.

After this losing game AMICO-BIGGAME players began to increase a power of their playing. In the game with Kyiv they proved their endurance having played all match at a high pace. A.Petrov, L.Sorokin, V.Gamov, V. Korobkov, S.Vasilenko highlighted their shooting skills. In the second half AMICO-BIGGAME dominated the game and took a lead 41 : 37, but could not avoid the defeat 74 : 82.

AMICO-BIGGAME team ended the tournament with a bright victory beating  Zhitomir  with a final score of 55 : 41, that allowed them to receive the third place at the tournament.

With this feeling of a victory Ukrainian veterans will go to the 13^th  FIMBA World Maxibasketball Championship – Orlando 2015.
